Gaby Angelini next to an improved Ba.15S model powered by a Walter Mars. With her pilot licence still fresh, Angelini used her own Ba.15 (I-TALY) on her "Raid Europeo" of 1932; a solo flight to the principal towns of Europe. Sadly, she perished later the same year flying the same aircraft on a solo raid to Delhi.

I looked up the source information on this - Baker, CA, hotter than hell in the summer!
Today Baker is the home of the "world's tallest thermometer." When I used to drive to Las Vegas with friends, anytime we stopped or drove past Baker, the common joke was "Let me see you stick that thermometer in your butt!"
