We had our local EAA chapter aviation day today. I took the boy out there and relaxed under the wing of a stearman, hung out in the rear of a B-17 and finished the day shading ourselves from the sun with a Corsair. I love these small hometown events. If you can find the right ones, there a goldmine of vintage aircraft. We had several different hombuilts to choose from. They were selling rides in the fortress, a bt-13, a helicopter and a stinson reliant. For you Texan fans among us, there were 6 different models of those.
All in all, it was a great way to spend a satuday morning.

Thanks guys, I have several more if your interested. I got some interesting early morning shots of the fortress coming in with the morning mist still in the air and the sun gleaming off of the aluminum. We also got a canadian visitor with the moth. I didn't get a chance to get up close to that one. There were however several stearmans, a few pitts, and another small black biplane ( not sure what it was ). I'm also throwing in a shot of the valiant ( aka vibrator, wonder what service pilots gave it that name).

That's one thing I've never been able to photograph is cropdusting. I've seen it only a couple times in my life and have never had a camera to capture it. Anyway, here's a few more from yesterday. I got an at-6 with the sun highlighting his color scheme, our local thunderbird, the biplane that eludes me (don't know what it is), and a brand new, very shiny, J-3 cub.

Well i had an interesting weekend. Me and my sons went to the airzoo and got to sit in the wildcat, hellcat and corsair. What an experiance. I don't think my boys realize the significance of the aircraft they were in but maybe someday they will.

It's a great experience. Whether they realize the significance or not, they will remember it. My dad took me to see the final landing of the XB-70 Valkyrie. I was real young, but I remember it and that was what sparked my interest in aviation.

We had our IMAC contest last weekend. unfortunately we got rained out on sunday and wasn't able to finish but for my first contest I was just happy that it ran and flew as intended.

Only the onethat I'm holding is mine. I want to get another large model but I'm not sure what I want at this point.

Here's a couple of pics of why we called it off on sunday. There was a large amount of standing water on the runway which doesn't these planes all the well. Most of these guy's have over $5,000 invested in an airframe so I don't blame them.

I went to the local eaa chapter breakfast flyin two weekends ago and the owner of this bird was pulling it out of the hanger to tow it over to the eaa hanger and stopped to offer my son a ride in it while he pulled it.
My boy said no thanks. I couldn't believe it, he looks at me and says it's not like i've never been in one before. "" KIDS"" They just don't understand.
