The first people to come to his aid were Doctors!

Statistically, per square yard there is a higher concentration of qualified doctors on a golf course than a hospital. Mr Ford made a well informed choice.

Nope, he got Bill Murry to take care of that.

Here gopher gopher gopher...

is it possible to make a living flying such a plane?
Nobody reports "amateur car driver has accident" or "professional truck driver falls asleep". I hope he makes a full recovery and has a laugh at the awful jokes about golfers.

you can make a living flying any type of plane. if he decided as a certified flight instructor to use that to give lessons or check rides....or for the 10 hours of tail dragger time required for that endorsment. he could give rides and charge $ above the cost of fuel. not saying it would be wise but is possible.

here in the US the media takes great lengths to mention the profession or qualifications of only certain people when it comes to incidents. if a clerk of a convience store or office woker would get a DWI, his/her occupation would never make the press. if the same happened to a school teacher, or someone who works in local, state, or federal government ( and not an elected official just a worker ), or of the person has some prominence in the community...head of some charity.....who they are and what they do will be mentioned more than once and the placement of the article will be moved closer to the front page.
