Hasegawa 1/32 P47D Republic Thunderbolt

The prop is now complete, nose spinner has been added and sprayed yellow it's also had a coat of klear last night. Weathering added with pro-modeller dark dirt and wear to blades with a silver pencil this morning. Need to move onto closing the fuselage next.

I'm going to have to take a few days off from the build as Norfolk has been hit by sub-zero temps. It was down to -14c last night here in Norwich and my garden room is not much warmer (I've got no heating in that room) I did try wearing a fleece this morning but would need to wear gloves and some how I don't think that would work. Here's a few pics of last night when we had 4" and this morning, it's bright and sunny at the moment but there's more snow on the way, temps are -7c at present but are due to drop this evening.

Yes, that would be tough in an unheated area so can't blame you. Of course, we Canadians see that kind of weather as pretty typical, although it's actually "warmed up" here in Calgary to above zero in the last few days.
 
It was like that here on Monday, but the snow had gone by Tuesday morning. Still cold though, with brass monkeys looking for welders.
When we do get snow it's nothing like Canada of course, but the problem with the British winter is that it's a very damp, penetrating cold, with ice that just lies for days or weeks, increasing each night as the dampness increases.
 
Terry that's exactly what I was thinking our weather is no where near as bad as Canada and I would guess that they are better prepared than us. Damp is the problem. Looks like we've got more snow on the way as from Friday.
 
Yep. I'm in the hills above the Cheshire plain, current temp at 16.30 hrs is -5, and threatening snow.
The most we've had here in the North West in recent years was around 8 inches average, maybe 12 to 24 inches on the tops. Nothing like where I grew up, in the North East, where the snow came straight from Siberia, and was average 12 inches, and around 3 or 4 feet on the higher ground. I remember the 'Big Freeze' of 1962/63 (and we still wore short trousers to school!), and a year or so later, building an Igloo in the back garden, which stayed there, after the snow had gone, for about a month!
Went skiing in the (downhill) streets, and skating on the local ponds and boating lakes!
 
Well Guys
I braved the elements donned a fleece a hat and got to work on spraying the engine cowling. First some primmer a light coat of white followed by some pre-shading of yellow and brown. I over did the pre-shading so I had to apply some white. Then it was onto the final coat of yellow. Considering the extreme cold I'm pleased with the result. Still got to sort the fuselage out that will definitely be my next job.
