And underage girls too. I hope to hell Seattle NEVER gets either one. While they claim that cities prosper from these venues, everything I have read that delved into a detailed analysis indicates that they cost the public millions of dollars to host them.
 

It really depends on how ready a city is for it. In some places where the infrusture for an event like the World Cup is permanently in place, and minimal renovations and upgrades are needed, and there are also tons of hotels, restaurants, public transportation, it can be successful.

The World Cup 2006 in Germany was a prime example. The burdon on the public was not that great.

Brazil on the other hand? Just stupid...
