Found it. Go to, englishrussia.com and look at the page titled "Two Little Known Military Museums of Moscow". The bizzare light blue / dark blue scheme is not exactly the same, but you can see a (IMHO) probable inspiration.
A bonus is a couple of shots of a Russian 'copter (MIL-23?) with some great intake covers!

Ooh, stripey! Looks like a tasty German cake, one of those with the chocolate, cinnamon, and icing on top! Nicely done.
 
Weird blue '109's, frosted 190's, and fuzzy Zero's.
If you, Vic and Bill didn't do such nice work I might think it has something to do with being up-side down all the time.
 
Yeah I guess what threw me was not the omission of the aerial, but the fantastic execution and then missing such a glaring error. I assume that an aerial was appropriate but perhaps the modeller knows something I don't. Wouldn't be the first.
