Thanks very much chaps.
Haven't had much time for 'prolonged' modelling this evening, and got a busy day tomorrow, so might not get any more done until Wednesday.
Meanwhile, I'll do a bit more on the PR.IX nacelles, which are nearly finished.

I just had a good time watching the wonderful process of your Mosquitos. =D>
Now I know where to turn when I have a Mosquito in my hands. So much to learn and practice (I loved how to make your own pieces in resin)
Congratulations Terry, I will follow your progress.

Saludos maestro

Thanks very much Luis, glad you like it so far.
Once the first coat of paint is done on the PR.IX, I'll compete the last little jobs on the FB.VI and get the overall Medium Sea Grey sprayed. Once that's dry, the camouflage pattern will be marked in pencil, and the Dark green sprayed freehand.
Hoping to get the first stage done tomorrow.

It's been a while since I got any work done on this one, what with the delays and problems with the PR.IX, and then a series of heavy colds which floored me.
But I've now got the nav lamps done and fitted, along with the kit ice guards, and the brass pitot tube from the 'Master' set, and the model is ready for the first stage of painting.
If the GB finish date is next Sunday (5th March), then there's a reasonable chance I can get this done in time, along with the NF.XII.
Can't post any pics at the moment, as my camera USB cable has fallen down behind the computer tower, and I can't reach it at the moment - pics soon.

Thanks Robert. Hoping to get the first paint on some time tomorrow, then the Dark Green on Thursday or Friday. I might just get the gloss clear on, and maybe the decals, by Sunday, but doubtful.
Going to try to get the NF.XII finished at least, as this is more important, being one of the models for the 46 Sqn 100th Annul Reunion Dinner.

As I couldn't sleep very well, I got up in the middle of the night, and cracked on with the Mossie.
A bit of further light sanding was required here and there, and then the nav lamps and undercart were masked, the latter being quite awkward, and it's a shame they had to be fitted before adding the nacelles to the wings, but wrapping the main gear in kitchen foil, and the tail wheel in masking tape, seems to have done the trick. Any slight overspray that might have got through can easily be re-touched later.
I dislodged the nav lamps whilst applying masking tape, but no big problem, as they can be re- fitted and sealed after painting.
The model has now had two coats of Medium Sea Grey enamel and, with a bit of luck, I hope to get the Dark Green sprayed this evening.
Apologies for the poor quality photos, the lighting over the painting area isn't very good for photography.

PIC 1. The brass pitot tube from 'Master' was fitted into a pre-drilled hole, and fixed with a couple of spots of CA, blended around the hole.
PIC 2. As I lost one of the PE carb intake ice guards for the PR.IX, I've had to donate one from this build, so used the kit ice guards. As it turned out, these are more accurate in size and shape, even if they do lack the 'real' mesh of the Eduard PE guards.
PIC 3. The main gear assemblies were too awkward to mask with tape, which could also have caused damage to the brake lines and door guards, so they were wrapped in kitchen foil.
PICS 4 and 5. The Medium Sea Grey has been sprayed overall - Dark Green disruptive pattern for the upper surfaces is next.

If I can get the Dark Green done later, I'll post pics tonight.
Thanks again to all for the continued interest and encouragement, much appreciated now that I am officially an 'old age pensioner' !!

Thanks Wayne, but there's a problem - it's the wrong bl**dy colour !!
I gave the model a thin coat of Humbrol No.64, as a primer, before spraying the Medium Sea Grey, just to be able to see where I was spraying on the similar coloured plastic.
I then did the overall colour - but, head up Rs, I sprayed more No.64, thinking it was MSG - but it's Light Aircraft Grey !
B*gger and double b*llocks !
Fortunately, I noticed this when I put the model alongside the NF.XII, so I'll now give it a coat of 'Model Master' Medium Sea Grey. This will probably use up all the MM grey, and it looks like it's now no longer available, as I can't find it listed anywhere, including the MM web-site.
Ah well, another bl**dy delay, but I should get the green on by tomorrow at the latest, and at least I've got the matt clear coat on the NF.XII now - if it dries matt, that is !
