Hi everyone,
I must admit that I can't recall joining the site, but I have been getting the update emails for a while now! Mind you, I do have PTSD, so that may be the reason for the senior moment!
I grew up in N Wales, where the skies were always full of training aircraft from 4 FTS at RAF Valley.
I made my first model when I was 6, that's nearly 58 years ago!
And then I joined the Army - go figure!
I'm now retired, after a very interesting life as a soldier and civil servant.
My main interests are model making, photography of aircraft and I spent a number of years as a volunteer at the IWM, Duxford. I also looked after the UK's photo interpretation collection (The Medmenham Collection) when I was an imagery analysis instructor, so if you have any questions about air photography, I'll do my best!
Cheers,
Chris

I think it's "Welcome back"! I've just found my first and only post from 2010, when I posted a question about the B-17G chin turret! I was working at RAF Molesworth here in the UK and our US colleagues had been given a recovered .50cal Browning from a wreck site in the Cheviot Hills here in the UK. We wanted to do some conservation work on it at the time. I don't know what happened to the gun, as people were rotated out shortly after and interest seemed to wane! :(

Part at Coy level, and most at the then SF HQ at Duke of Yorks HQ, Chelsea, with RAF instructors. It was around the time things were changing, with the DSOP at Cosford at capacity, so instructors were seconded to SF for the course.

Interesting... I did my Imint course at JSPI, then at RAF Wyton, after a tour behind the Iron Curtain, then I was an instructor when JSPI moved to Chicksands when it became a UK base again.
