It is not perfect, as shown by some of the other guys above. The list is easily debatable. I do think it is an interesting way of evaluating the teams however.
 
Well, I"ll be a monkey's uncle. Early in this thread I said that the owner of the Broncos had screwed the pooch by hiring this kid, McDaniels. If someone will hand me some mustard, I am ready to eat crow. This Josh McDaniels can coach. The Broncos are a team transformed. They make few mistakes and play sixty minutes of tough, hard, physical football. They may not have the talent to win the Super Bowl but I sure would not bet against them. It appears to me that there is no real solid favorite for best team in the NFL right now and the Broncos just might get it done. The guy is just 33 years old and he may be a prodigy.
 
I agree the Bills were good, but going 0-4 for Super Bowls lowers them down a few notches in my book. Even being a 49er s fan, I'd have to say the 90's belonged to the Cowboys.

Unfortunately I agree.

If I had to break down the top 3 by decades (again I will only do Super Bowl era) it would be like this. This is obviously just my opinion and debatable as well.

And they still lost them pretty bad...

Buffalo was a great team, but to call them the best of the 90s is very far fetched. The 90s belong to the Cowboys (as much as I hate them) and then followed by the 49ers.

And also 40% percent of the losses. Once again, I am not a Cowboys fan, but they had several hall of famers playing on that team in the 90's, and three Super Bowl victories. Aikman, Michael Irvin, Emmit Smith will be one.

I would agree they might be the 2nd best team of the 90's. But to me, Super Bowl victories in football are the deciding factor. I think the Cowboys going to three and winning three puts them far ahead of Buffalo and their 4 appearances with 4 losses.

Now I think that media sway might have a wee bit to do with that Buffalo just did not get anywhere near the press the Cowboys or 49ers did IMHO

But i do agree that some teams do get more press than others.

Point? All of these were dominant players as well. As for Kelly, I agree he was better than Aikman, but Steve Young....nope...

It's all about championships pb, nothing more, nothing less. The best teams of the decades are the ones that win them. Going to four Super Bowls in a row is a great feat, but to be ranked with the big boys you gotta win a few.

Agreed. The two best teams of the 90s won Superbowls.

Buffalo may have gone to 4 in a row, but hey lost all of them. As pbfoot pointed out that might be 40%, but it is also 40% lost.

However the Cowboys went 3 times in the 90s and won all 3 times, and the 49ers went 2 times in the 90s and won both times. That makes 50% of the decade and 50% of the decade won.

I could not stand how the Cowboys fans came out of the woodwork in the 90's, and then disappeared when the party was over! One of my best friends to this day was a big Cowboys fan, bandwagonner to boot which made it even more irritating. She used to give me soo much crap when they beat the 49ers in the playoffs a few years! But Karma is a bitch, she married a 49ers fan!

Even more irritating, she thought Aikman was god! But she got to meet Joe Montana in K.C. steakhouse and got his autograph and rubs that in my face to this day!

Football has one thing that peeves me they never play the Superbowl in the winter states outdoors it just ain't right. Whats good in the regular season should be good for the playoffs
