Well that's what everyone said about the Patriots a couple years ago and they lost the big one. You never know what will happen. But they do look awfully good. Viking-Saints playoff game, should they meet up promises to be a good one, although I give the Saints the edge, I do beleive the Vikes secondary can be exploited by a good passing game.

Yeah but I think the Saints are a much better team than the Pats were.

The 1970's era of the Cowboys was nothing to sneeze at.

It pretty much ended Dallas's dominance in the NFC.
IMO, San Francisco should have lost that game.
(glad they didn't.)

Between 1970 and 1982 the Cowboys played in 9 NFC championship games.
NFC Champions ship games 1970-Present

I remember - but that was Danny White and the teams of the 70's were better teams. Nobody will ever challenge Landry's record of 18 winning seasons in a row and 17 of 18 playoff teams in that streak.

Yea BP32 lots of football left for sure. You have to agree they are playing as one unit both defense and offense no stars out crying "I didn't get the ball" or some other BS.Too think also that NcKenzie and McAlister were signed on last week after not playing ball for over a year with McKenzie getting the interception with some serious hits. This is not an "I" team they are a unit.

Too early to talk Superbowl. There's another group that scares the @%$# out of me......One of them came from the Frozen Tundra........Hell of a good team.

I think that if New Orleans does not lose a game soon, they might fall pretty quick in the playoffs. It is better to get that loss over with and keep your head in the game.

Niner's came close with 16 straight and 18 out of 20 seasons.

True - the team came close but Walsh had best 7 playoff teams in a row (one time) and Siefert had best 8 playoff teams in a row (one time).

Landry as a coach went 20 straight winning seasons and streak of 8 and 9 straight playoff appearances.

I'll never believe Young was better than Montana.
Count the Super Bowl rings.
Young had good teamates around him too and could only get one.

Joe Montana: 1979-1992 San Francisco 49ers (4 Super Bowl Rings)
Steve Young: 1987-1999 San Francisco 49ers (1 Super Bowl Ring)

Young took over from Montana in 1990 I believe and had 9 seasons to get more than one ring.
It took Young 3 years and an injury to Montana to get the job.

Montana, Fouts, Marino, Elway.
I miss seeing them play. :(

Both are my favorite QB's. But I personally believe Young was overall the better QB. IRC, Young broke most of Montana's records with the 49ers. And Young threw more TD passes to Rice than Montana did in his career with the 49ers. Montana was not known for a strong arm, nor for his mobility. Young was known for both, and defenses had to adjust to having another running threat in the backfield other than the backs, and was more accurate than Montana as well. Check their lifetime QB ratings. Most teams would love to have a player of either one of their caliber, I know the 49ers would kill for another Montana or Young right now.
