The Vikes beat the hapless Lions, but they looked SLOPPY!!!! Many unnecessary penalties from both the defense and offense.

Very sloppy indeed. This is the first Vikes game I've watched nearly from beginning to end this year and it is a good thing they were not playing a very good team after thier bye week. If they had been they would not have been able to get away with thier sloppy play and excessive penalties.
One other thing, Childress needs to get away from the cutsie double reverse garbage, especially need to not have Adrian Peterson try to flip the ball to another player on a double. He is not known for his ball control abilities as this showed. Wouldn't hurt for him to look over his shoulder when he breaks away from the pack and has someone gaining on him and thus punch the ball out of his hands.
This game should have been a blow out by the end of the first half, yardagewise it was, but points wise the Vikes let the Lions hang around close too long.
Better sharpen things up in the coming weeks.

Very sloppy indeed.

It could be worse. You could be a Cowboy fan. 10 penalties, 2 pics, one fumble, numerous dropped passes. Make no mistake, losing sux, but beating yourself is absolutely infuriating!

Roy Williams has been whining about not getting the ball. Maybe if he could hold on to the pill, then they would throw to him!

Nah, I like seeing the Cowboys loose;) But when the Cowboys play the Packers I have a hard time choosing which one I want to win!

Your right just the fact that someone is a Cowpatties fan is worse.

Like I always say. I have two favorite teams. The 49ers and anyone that is playing the Cowturds.

This weeks pics:

Last Week: 10-5
Overall: 90-53

This week:

Carolina Panthers 28-22 Miami Dolphins
Pittsburgh Steelers 27-14 Kansas City Chiefs
New York Giants 23-20 Atlanta Falcons
New Orleans Saints 40-10 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (The Aints are about to fall sometime, but not against the Somalian Pirates)
Green Bay Packers 24-17 San Francisco 49ers (not a chance at Lambeau, Steve Young could not even win at Lambeau)
Minnesota Vikings 33-21 Seattle Seahawks
Detroit Lions 28-25 Cleveland Browns
Jacksonville Jaguars 21-10 Buffalo Bills
Dallas Cowboys 27-13 Washington Redskins
Baltimore Ravens 23-20 Indiannapolis Colts (They have to fall sometime...)
Arizona Cardinals 27-9 St. Louis Rams
New England Patriots 30-14 New York Jets
Cincinnati Bengals 24-10 Oakland Raiders
San Diego Chargers 24-17 Denver Broncos
Philadelphia Eagles 23-14 Chicago Bears
Houston Texans 31-13 Tennesee Titans

I'm hoping the Falcons beat the Giants (sorry TO :)) and the Eagles find a way past the Bears (hey Andy, 4th and goal at the 1? GO FOR IT!! Oh, forgot, you have no TIMEOUTS!!!)

I have a sneaking suspecion that the Bucs might get past the Saints. That rookie QB doesn't look too bad.

Damn Niners are losing in Green Bay. Oh well I did not expect anything less. The Niners (even when they had Young) could rarely win in Green Bay. Too bad they are not playing in SF.

I keep having a recurring dream that the NFL gets back to normal again.

The 49ers will be in the Conference finals every year, the Saints will be the Aints again, the Cards will be the leagues bottom feeders along with Tampa Bay and the Patriots go back to being mediocre.

Oh and I almost forgot. The Cowboys drop back the way they sucked in the 80s.

Yeah that is the way the NFL should be...

Most say Young was better, maybe so, but Montana will always be my Fav QB. If I remember corectly, His last game with the Chief's was something special. Think he only played in the second half, but he was magic.

I'll never believe Young was better than Montana.
Count the Super Bowl rings.
Young had good teamates around him too and could only get one.

Joe Montana: 1979-1992 San Francisco 49ers (4 Super Bowl Rings)
Steve Young: 1987-1999 San Francisco 49ers (1 Super Bowl Ring)

Young took over from Montana in 1990 I believe and had 9 seasons to get more than one ring.
It took Young 3 years and an injury to Montana to get the job.

Montana, Fouts, Marino, Elway.
I miss seeing them play. :(

I think that Young was a better overall QB than Montana. He was just as accurate but could run better.

A QB is not the only player on the field, you have to take the running game, the o line, the defense all into account. Montana had the better teams.

Now having said that Montana is the greatest in my opinion, but I still think that Young was slightly better in terms of talent.
