Played with the concept of "ETTR" (Expose To The Right), to see if you could really get more of the stars in the sky from overexposing your shot, then adjusting in Lightroom. This shot was taken at : f/2.8, 30", ISO 6400. It worked pretty good considering I took this from my back-yard in the city so I had the standard city lights, it was taken at 11:15 pm. Normally you could not see very many stars, quite a difference.

First shot is the before unadjusted in Lightroom, second was processed in Lightroom. Moonless night. I would like to try and get the Milky Way in the desert.

Thats a big difference, good stuff!
Thanks Wayne, I hope to get out to the desert one of these week-ends and try a better shot maybe get the "Milky Way", but I have to do it when there is no moon. I think I could get a good shot at maybe f/2.8,15" at ISO1600. The lens I used in the above shot was a Canon 17-55mm 1:2.8.
