Excellent shots, especially the first two...wow! Way to go!

Regarding the earlier conversation: I know that whole area has changed beyond belief, Grand Terrace used to be fairly natural, with the boulders strewn here and there, much like your photo. Even out along the base out the San Gabriel/San Bernardino range (above Highland Ave.) there were quite a few boulders like that (and the ancient Indian ruins were SO cool to check out)...and of course, all that's long gone...

You're welcome Merv, and the camera showed up today. Charging the battery as I type this. I will get on Amazon and Alibris and see if I can't find a Ben Long book for it. The controls are all in different locations. It's going to take some getting use to.

Thanks Vic greatly appreciated. Aaron I can't wait to see some shots from your new camera, I know it will take some getting use to from the XSi, I bought a couple of books on how to use my Canon 70D and I'm still learning.

This shot I took the other day of some more geraniums in my garden.

That's a lovely coloured geranium, a sort of cross between the pink and red but not quite coral. Just love it.

Thank you Aaron, VB, Wayne and Hugh. Aaron, It's to bad Canon didn't make the full frame like the cropped sensor to take all lenses, the full frame will only take the EF lenses. I'm not to familiar with the EF lenses I do have a couple, the EF 24-105 is a pretty popular lens a lot of people use for a walk around. I was thinking of getting one but I ordered a new tripod instead, maybe Santa will get me one for Christmas
