Thanks for looking in guys. Made a start with the engine block today,

The main engine components.

The assembled engine along with gearbox components,

Engine and gearbox assembled after a stuff-up by me. I glued the gearbox on upside down but was able too rectify without to much drama.

Just a few more details added before I called it a day.

Thanks for looking in folks, happy to have you join me...................Had a little problem with the distributor cap. The instruction say to push the HT lead onto the central spur and not glue, the only snag is the lead kept slipping off. So I added a wee touch of glue only to have the lead and spur snap off at the first touch.

To get the lead in was a tight fit so to solve the problem was a simple case of drilling a small hole, insert a pin with a dab of glue and the refit the lead, again securing with a dab of glue.

As I put this engine together, I have the feeling it would be a mechanics nightmare, it is so compact.

Almost had a major disaster yesterday evening when I pulled the window blind in my hobby room and it fell away from the clamps holding it at the top of the window, the whole lot collapsed onto my model parts. Luckily no damage to the vehicle bodywork but all the parts I still have to has ended up scattered across the room. Only time will tell if I still have them all or if any are damaged.

Didn't do any work on it today but have some pics from yesterdays marathon build.....................

It was not easy getting that engine to fit into the engine compartment and for everything to line up...................but we made it.
