Which reminds me of an old kiwi joke:

Two council road workers are sitting in their little orange pup-tent, drinking their tenth cup of coffee.
One looks down and sees a snail near his foot.
"Right!' he says 'That does it!"
He gets up, jumps on the snail, stomps it flat, and stands and spins on it until there's nothing left but a large grey smear on the asphalt.
His mate looks at him in horror and says "what on earth did you do that for???"
"Little b@stard's been following me round all day" he says.
