Well went to the RAAF base Edinburgh airshow today, some great aircraft on display however the weather sucked big time. The wind was blowing harder than a two dollar hooker which meant some of the flying routines were canned (meteor and canberra to name a few:( ), the sky was mostly overcast and it was freezing. On top of that my camera was playing up and gave me the shits. But apart from that the wife and I had a great time, here are some pics.

- A beautiful Beech 18
- Nanchang CJ-6
- DH Chipmunk

- P3 Orions, RAAF Edinburgh is the home of the Orion Maritime Patrol Wing, so there were plenty of them laying around.

- The RAAF Museum's CAC Mustang. Unfortunately these are the only pics I got of it because my camera was playing up when it was doing it display.

Thanks Matt :)
- The mighty F-111  always great to watch especially when it does its famed "dump and burn" routine.

Yeah, great photos again Wildcat! Looks like you didn't have to stop at the Temora Aviation Museum after all, half their jet collection is there! Knowing nothing of photography, tell me, why do the two airborne shots of the Orion's props appear to be standing still? There would be no 'strobe' effect with a digital camera, would there?

Thanks for the comments guys :)

Knowing nothing of photography, tell me, why do the two airborne shots of the Orion's props appear to be standing still? There would be no 'strobe' effect with a digital camera, would there?

The prop effect turned out like that because I had it set on the incorrect shutter speed, I think. I'm no expert myself, I simply point and shoot! Eric is the man to ask. I was a bit disappointed with the prop blur because the orion was flying on three engines and I was hoping that that would show in my photos.

- Here's a 707 doing mock air-air refuelling.

Thanks for the air show. Prop blur is a seperate art. The shutter speed has to be slower than the prop speed. I have never seen the F111 dump and burn live. Nice shots.

Great photos Wild. Envious as hell mate. Bloody Air Show in South Australia none in Queensland, But thanks for sharing the photos. I really enjoyed them. DB the F111 doing a Dump and Burn looks great in the photos of Wild. But at night its spectacular. 2 Tonne of Aviation Fuel Dumped and Burned and the Flying Ardvark (F111) doing a low pass. With these thumping jet noise coming from the engines as it flys past lighting up the sky. Put it this way mate. Once seen never forgotten
