Great catch Wayne, especially at that price!
It's a very nice kit indeed - It was my first Academy kit (in it's original boxing for 78th FG) about 10 years ago, and I remember being very impressed. Lots of optional spare parts, very nicely moulded, and goes together effortlessly, making a very nice completed model.

Oh man, that's a nice grab Wayne.

So I guess 26 delivered for the Academy P-47N is not a bod price after all!!!!
Just might get it, my stash is growing to be a monster!

after watching the movie "Battleship" a few months ago, I wanted to build a model of the Missouri (I don't care what anyone says. Battleship was a fun movie. yes, the dialogue was terrible. but it was mindless entertainment) but I had too many models, and I had just forgotten about it. but recently, I've been reading up on a new HBO WWII miniseries coming out called "Masters of the skies" no release date on it yet, seems like it's in the planning stages, then that got me thinking that HBO is covering all 4 military branches. Band of Brothers was Army, The Pacific was Marines, this new one coming out is the Army Air Corps, (we know it today as Air Force).

so that got me thinking that after this one is done, they could be doing one on the Navy. and I really hope it focuses on the crew of the Missouri. and I know just how it would go, too. it'd start with the attack on Pearl Harbor, then it would end with the Japanese surrender on board the Missouri. And I know this won't happen because of budget and safety issues, but it would be really great if they would actually take the Missouri out to sea, and fire her guns for action sequences. Or maybe, it could focus on multiple ships. Destroyers, Carriers, ETC.

anyways, I couldn't resist getting these on Amazon:

That's the ones! And the last book you mentioned has only two words in it - 'The End' !!

Personally I prefer the book titled " Cantering acress the prairie" It has 500 pages. There is the "Giddap!!" on the first page and then the "clip-clop. clip-clop, clip-clop" for the next 498 pages and there is "Whoe!" on the last one. Really it's very intersting and useful for long winter evenings... I don't suggest reading of it in a toilet because a leg can become numb.
