Good stuff guys. And Jan, build a model? Got more chance of finding Hitler's dog ..........
Wayne - that Sabre is a beaut kit - got one built and another in the stash. some of the kit decals are a bit thick though, especially the yellow ID markings.
Buffnut, that's a great price for that haul - I've been watching Defiants on that internet auction site, and they've been going for £40 upwards, plus shipping!

Haven't exactly been on a shopping spree for the past few months...but I ran into this re-release of an Italeri classic today...and after seeing a Do-24T in a Dutch museum a few weeks ago I just HAD to buy this one. Not mention the fact that I'm glad to see this one re-released all together 'cause it wasn't exactly easy to come by in recent years.

Jan, been thinking about the Junyo Zero...just for the camo styles, it depicts the Zero in a transition period where the green was being added to the upper surface. If HLJ had them I'd probably already have it! they are out of stock it sold real quick.

I actually got that Sabre based on some of your previous comments Terrry....so thanks!

Good stuff guys, and you're welcome Wayne.
That Dornier should be an impressive model in that scale Wojtek.
Cory, which particular RCAF squadron or aircraft do you want to model? The prop would depend on production batch, but the 4 blade was also retro-fitted, along with the wider Tempest tail planes, and it was possible to see a combination of variants in a squadron.

OK, I'll have a look a that for you, and see what I can find. There are a couple of Canadian 'Tiffies' flown by aces and/or well-known pilots too, so I'll look through my references and e-mail you anything interesting.
If you can't find code letter decals for your chosen subject, then Xtradecal do RAF Sky codes, with between 3 and four of each letter/number, available from Hannant's, and the serial numbers can be made on the computer, and printed onto clear decal sheet.

Yes, it's a nice kit - I've got the 'car door' version in the stash, ready for my '56 Squadron Collection'.
The old Monogram kit, recently re-released by Revell, is still pretty good too. A bit basic by today's standards, but good overall, and it has the four blade prop - it may have the three blade as an option too, but I can't remember. I'll have to get one to find out ! And it's around a quarter of the price, or less, of the over-priced Hasegawa kit, nice though the latter is !

You did well Cory as that kit is pretty had to find. When it showed up at one of my local stores, I snapped it up - and paid the price. Now, I think the particular one I got came with newly issued decal options as well as a 4 blade prop and resin tail for the wider version Terry mentioned and, though I can't check the box right now, I'm pretty sure the decal options look like this:

5V would be 439 Squadron RCAF though I may want to do an RCAF rig myself. Once you decide on a scheme, let's discuss as I may be able to help you out
