Good stuff guys.

Terry, you did well on that Revell Mossie but it's a pity that you now no longer have the better Airfix spinners that you sent me. Your generosity has left you without the option to replace them. You'll also want to turf those ridiculous kit tires and replace them with something a little more realistic.

Good stuff Bill. Probably, as George says, the Hobbycraft kit, and I think Italeri did one at one time too.

Andy - no problem, it's the Airfix kit of the FBVI I won, not Revell's BIV. The prop blades are the 'paddle' type, so those, and another set in the spares box, will go to make two Hamilton Standard props for my P-47s, and spare De Havilland blades will go on the Mossie. The spinners I sent you might have been Airfix, or could have been the original Monogram kit items - they'd been in the spares box for around 30 years or more, so can't remember!

Won this on ebay....

The decals are there for the MC. 202, that Beurling shot down on the 27/07/42, which was one of four destroyed and two damaged that day....

This one here on the cover....

Hi,
if you are going to build "that" bird, I think that the correct picture to refer to is the following:
MC 202 378-11.jpg

taken from this book:
Aermacchi rid.jpg

In my opinion also the number 11 is black with a white outline.

Instead decals seems to be referring to this profile:

MC 202 378-11 bis.jpg

taken from
MMMS C-202.jpg

but the one downed by Beurling is the other one.
May be I have other pictures of the good one, if I find them, I will let you know.
Alberto

Good stuff guys. Terry, glad to hear you're squared away. The Revell kit has lots of spare parts so let me know if you're looking for anything. It does have the paddle blades as well and I didn't use the Merlins.
