I just received word that former "Thunderdelfin" Don Goodin (Lt Col USAF Ret.) passed away a few days ago at is home in Kentucky. Don was a true friend and mentor to me and I am very grateful I had the opportunity to crew and maintain his aircraft. Don was an excellent pilot from the Vietnam War era and was a highly decorated AT-37 pilot during that conflict. I was making plans to visit Don upon hearing word of his passing.

With tears in my eyes and a heavy heart - "Blue Skies and Tailwinds always old friend, give my regards to Bob when you see him."

The death of any vet is very sad, flying close air-support in Vietnam endears him to me and that you lost a friend is tragic, please accept my condolences

The passing of any friend is heartfelt.
When that friend was signifacant in your past and kindly helped improve your skills and your person,
this is especially hard to deal with.

The sadness is in the passing.
The gladness was in their presence.
