Revell 1/32 Me-109g

I tried both and the guy at John's sounded as if he could care less if I ever buy anything there and W&W want $3.95 a bottle.A downright rip off. I can order them from modelsforsale.com in the UK,and have 20 RLM colours shipped for $54.20 all in. And they wonder why no one buys from them. Quick update. Painted engine block semi gloss,and started to get the pit parts ready and found that one of the rudder pedals was missing so I am making one. I guess after looking at my manufacturing of this part,I would assume you would want this kind of talent

I think your spot on with the engine colour and finish here's some photos of a museum piece at Hendon the light wasn't very good but you can see that it's semi gloss.

Good stuff Prem, and great pics Vaughan.
Just had a thought re the final colour scheme, to keep it easy. This kit is actually Revell's original Bf109F, with added parts to make the 'G' variant. You could leave off the 'Beule', the bulges over the gun breeches on top of the cowling, and make an 'F', don't paint in the central frame on the canopy, and finish the model in a very early 'F' scheme, similar to the 'E' you posted. Or, do similar, and paint in a desert scheme as a 'F' or early 'G'.
This would allow a nicely finished model, without the complication of mottle and airbrush use.
BTW, Revell are releasing a new tool Bf109G-6 in December, which should be excellent, and will retail at under $30 in the 'States (£19.99 in the UK).
 
You the Man. Now why didn't I think of that?8) Do you thing Hu140 Gull grey will suffice? I don't have Hu28 Camo grey
