Fist of all I must say that I'have been away from this forum for several months because starting from September I was very busy in moving my house, from packing all our stuff to settling in the new flat.
We moved to a larger flat, so my wife is happy because she has a larger dining room and I got a better space for my hobbies.
By the way, going back to the subject, during last Summer I had the opportunity to read the book "Fighter Pilot" dedicated to Robin Olds career during WW2 and Vietnam wars.
I was so intrigued that, besides I already have four models in various stage of construction in my cabinet, I wanted to do a replica of that Phantom. Not really a WW2 aircraft, but very fascinating.
So I purcahased the Tamiya kit in 1:32 dedicated to F-4C/D and I started the needed preliminary works.
Basically, this Tam kit is 20+ year old and, as I learned; has a number of issues, among them:
- intakes aren't seamless
- a number of streigthening patches on fuselage that didn't existed on real bird.
Below you will find some pictures of what I've done so far.
More will follow.
