I agree about the Whirlwind, My mother was in fighter command WRAF at Manston in WW2 and she tallked about how fast the Whirlwinds were. An impressive sight by all accounts. I wonder why it was never fully developed though? The Hornet seems to be its spiritual successor.

Fair comment about the Beau. It served well in the far east and as a torpedo bomber.Maybe there was no need to develop it more as we had the Mossie.
