I have some pics from a weekend trip to Omaha of a Big Boy Steam Engine and a Centennial series diesel both built for Union Pacific railroad. Both are the largest engines of their type ever made. It was very hard to fit either engines in a single picture, hope they turn out ok guys!

I wish I could have gotten some better pics, but these things are just too damn big. If you have never seen a Big Boy, You need to see one in person just to experience how massive these engines were. I think I really needed a WIDE angle lens to get any better shots.

Love the Big Boy! Although I think that the C&O's and Clinchfiled's 2-6-6-6's were bigger in some ways, they were heavier though, that's why C&O took Lima to court. N&W Y-6b's were a h*ll lot smaller, they were however more powerful in "simple" and could pull a heavier train faster. Which I think that they actually did on the UP! Imagine the embarrassment!

B*ll*cks! Forgot to say "great pics"!

Now, what wouldn't you give to sit in the Diner or in the Observation car with the right company on this train, back in the day....8)
