The last 3 pics in your last post is one of my favorites sys! Great pics!

In a nutshell, its to provide alternate power in case the steam engine "dies". The RR doesnt want the train to block the tracks as these are the mains and there are no detours for hundreds of miles.

Cheers SYS for that I suspected that was the reason.
That looks a real nice place to do train trips, I have always really fancied the Orient express but the price is for the rich only. However being ex BR when travelling in the states I can get reduced/free travel (depending on the route) as long as I book 3 months in advance through Amtrak , so when I retire in a few years time it will be on my to do list.

It's all coming from your direction Dave, in the past week we've gotten almost 5" of rain. My toes are becoming webbed. If I could send it your way I sure would.

And thanks Aaron...we've been getting serious T-storms out here, but the rain is mostly falling in the mountains (which is good, as there's severe lightning up there) but out here in the hills, it's parched. We definately need some rain
