Happy Birthday United States Marines.
My dad served in the Corps in the early 1960's.
He was in during the Cuban missle crisis but out before they started shipping troops to Vietnam on a large scale.

Any of you guys ever go to "Cookies" in Philadelphia for the Marine Corp Birthday? They close the street, bring in beer trucks and the place is packed with ex-military. Mostly Marines (obviously) but there are ton of guys there from all the other branches too. All day and into the night gig. Plenty of current millitary wandering around in uniform too.

I went to the a Marine Corp Ball for the for the 220th Birthday of the USMC. Very good party, I especially like it how they cut the cake with the saber.
