Ok folks, once again, thanks for looking in and today you're in for a treat as we are in Niagara Falls and on arrival even before checking into the hotel we were whisked off to the "Maid of the Mist".
Now for those of you who have never been on the Maid of the Mist let me tell you, you will get wet, very wet but 'Oh' is it worth it. So what follows are some of the pictures I took while getting very, very wet, the American fall s and Canadian Falls.
It was after this that I contacted Neil (pdfoot) who had very kindly offered his services and a very private tour round Niagara. We were luck as the sun was out and it was still warm and thanks to Neil we saw parts of Niagara and Niagara on the Lake which were not on our coach itinerary.
We even managed to catch a rainbow above the falls.
This rather placid looking water with just a few rapids showing is the flow into the falls. One cannot imagine the power of the current flowing through that.
This is the whirlpool Neil took us to see and from what I understand it's the place where you can have a bit of fun in the Jet boats on the rapids.
Here you have Neil and I. Sorry but I've got them shades on again.
Here we are on the shore of Lake Ontario looking across to the Toronto skyline.
Last up we have a couple of shots of Niagara at light, truly magnificent.
Once again our sincere thanks to Neil for his time and the interesting and enlightening tour of his lovely part of Canada, not to mention the great feed and beer while waiting for the dusk to fall.
This folks brings us to the end of the North American part of our tour. From Niagara we drove to Buffalo Airport for a flight to JFK and then onward over the Atlantic to France.
