Love the shots Vic. Which pair of boots did you end up buying? I myself would totally buy the 2nd from the left pair.

Geo

Couldn't buy any boots George, suitcase was already busting at the seams and I take a big size shoe, though I was surely tempted.

Almost forgot my weekly update, it's been a hectic weekend. Thanks for popping in guys and for all you Nashville fans, here's a few shots from the 'Hall of Fame' which took the best part of three hours to walk through with many a memory moment when you get the knot in the throat.

Thanks guy, hope y'all don't mind to much of this cultural stuff.

Following a good night's rest after all that fine Nashville food and foot stompin, we pushed onto the Jack Daniel's factory. For myself I was hoping for a couple of tasting samples, but no such luck, couldn't even buy a glass, had to purchase a whole bottle for which I wasn't keen on account of the angry head I'd possibly have come morning. So I just contented myself with a lot of vapour sniffin as we wandered around.

We were told that come the last Friday pay of the month, employees were given a bottle of JD with the pay packet. I got to wondering if anybody ever took a sickie on that day!

After Jack Daniel's we were treated to another of those American icons………………..'Walmart'. Didn't bother with pics her as the internet has plenty.

Following a short bus ride after Walmart we were taken to a real country store for ice cream, on the house.

Ok no Walmart shop fronts this time but we did get invited to Sunday Church while in Nashville which was and I'm being honest, enlightening!

After that we trucked off to see what for some was the highlight of the whole visit 'Gracelands'. I should mention at this point that the evening before was my highlight of Nashville with an evening spent at the 'Grand Ole Opry' but muggins here forgot to take his camera. Sorry lads.

So here you go folks, the start of 'Gracelands', the house.

Continuing with the trip and moving south our next stop was in Memphis where we had a visit to the old Sun Record Studios.

The million dollar quartet, impromptu jam session, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Johnny Cash................and me crooning!

The Peabody duck were also a must. If you don't know the story, the ducks spend the day in the hotel fountain in the foyer and at 6:00pm each night they are ushered in to the lift, red carpet style and taken up to the roof where they spend the night. Next morning they come back down to the fountain. There is even an official duck keeper.

PS. The drinks were good here...........

From Memphis we moved onto Natchez via a stop at the Jackson state government building

and then dinner in an old cotton home in Natchez. Wanting to try local dishes, I chose craw-fish for dinner.

Next stop, cotton picking.
