Thanks guys. Moving on we were taken to Iona Abbey on Iona Island and it was a miserable cold wet day. Going across on the ferry and basically being dumped for about three hour until a lunch had been arranged in the only eating establishment on the island which was like being back in the mess hall during my training. Even the baked beans tasted better in the RAF. Anyway, onto some pics of this very early Christian Abbey isolated on a tiny wind swept island.
As you can see were all wrapped up against the cold and this was in the Abbey with a bitter gale blowing outside. Why these pilgrims chose to settled there, well, only He knows.

Okay, so were still stranded on this wee island, the joy of organized tour groups and no sign of our guide who I'm sure is somewhere snug and warm supping a wee dram...........................................Is that a ferry I see docking. Quick folks, I do believe they have a bar on board!!!
