2009 Holden VE Commodore 'SS' 6 litre V8 ,good old fashioned 'Aussie Muscle' 8)
As Jeremy Clarkson would say, 'POWWWEEEEERRRR!'
Cheers,
Tony.

Whilst we're on the subject of Aussie wagons, I just bought this. A 1986 Ford Falcon panel van

Then started giving it a paintjob

4.1 straight six. A massive 33bhp/litre and about 20mpg. Sounds nice though!

You made me laugh out load Neg! You can get the paint off the windows with a single edge razor blade. And off the chrome with chrome polish. Trouble is, no one can see you comin. cheers, bill

Tony, if I had that rocket ship, I wouldn't have a license. I had two '65 Chev El Caminos in the States. One had a 327 and 4 speed. The other a 350 and 4 speed auto. I'm a bit of a motor head. Mines a V6, I couldn't have a V8 here and survive. Bill

Fuel cost isn't all that better with mine Jan. 1950 Chevy 3/4 ton pickup. About 12 miles to the gallon with the original straight 6cyl 216 cu in engine. I only drive it in the summer, and then usually only on the weekends.

Sure are H! Can't beat the reliability of an old taildragger, starts in every weather....carries anything for the holiday, even the toilet and the kitchen sink, easy to park (folding wings)....changing valves and plugs are a tad tiresome though, not exactly a flathead V-8 we're dealing with here. Which reminds me......

This isn't a pic of my truck, but I drive one very similar. The only difference between the pic and my truck is mine has the black molded running boards instead of the side pipe steps.

140,000 miles and running strong!

Yep, sure is. I have had two Ford trucks and loved them both. Now, as for their cars, except for the GT40, you couldn't give me one.

Fords trucks are about the only Fords I would buy. Other than that you would never see my buy a Ford. My wife did own a Ford Fiesta because it was so great on gas mileage (she had to drive 90 to 100 miles a day when she was in school). It was a good little car. It had over 300,000 km on it when we gave it to our friend a few months ago.

Other than that, Ford, hell no...

I will stick with Jeep.

Adler likes his Jeeps.

My Ford F-150 is holding up fine, but it is never driven (1995 with ~70k miles). I tend to drive our 2000 Toyota Sienna most often. Only 73k miles on her. She is due up for a timing belt change (time, not miles). With a new timing belt, water pump and serpentine belt she should be good as new. Supposedly the V6 engine in the Sienna is known for sludging, but I've been religious about changing the oil/filter. Only real problem I've had has been minor (broken rear hatch handle). The handle is made out of plastic and hauling my boys to multiple sports finally took its toll. Otherwise its a nice vehicle.

OK here's my ride: had 5 kids and never drove anything but monster 4-door wagons and vans.
kids gone, it's just me. Turbo-red line 270hp and 2.0 L zero to 60 in 5 sec and the best radar detector money can buy

Matt308, don't know for sure but from your pic and some of your posts i think that you've been there too,
so, fun is when the .30 bullet smacks the tree 1 inch from your head

Nothing to brag around - Fiat Punto (1st gen) shared by my wife me, and VW Transporter 2 (1980s) for work.
