Great work on the B24 Wojtek, it amazes me what you do with card models !
Rob, a rough texture is nothing to do with it being a couble-action 'brush - it should have more control than a single action. the texture will be cause by either the pressure, or the distance you spray from. There's no straight answer as to how to cure this, as it depends on the paint, how it's thinned etc. Just practice on something to get the best pressure and distance for the desired finish with the paint mix being used. Start by reducing the pressure if it's above , say, 15 psi. If it's a fixed pressure, alternate the diustance you spray from, and see what result you get.
You really need to practice to get used to the variations possible with the position of the trigger. Remember, pressing down only lets the air through, pulling back regulates the amount of paint flow. The further back the trigger, the more the paint will flow.

I was looking at these cardboard models in Melbourne when I was down there last, they are quite amazing and in your hands my friend, I think they will come alive.......:D

The rough texture is more likely the paint drying as it hits the surface, maybe you are a little too far from the model too...Terry is certainly right about the variations....

I've almost completed the P-40. I've finished detail painting, decal application, and now I'm just doing rigging.

Meanwhile, in a slightly smaller scale... :lol:

I've developed a sudden antipathy towards the Gannet, and I'm waiting for Hannants to deliver the paint for the Javelin, so I decided to restart work on my long-abandoned Sea Fury:

Also 1/72 and also Airfix, this Super Etendard, which will be finished in Argentine colours as soon as Hannants deliver. I've been meaning to do it for ages, so I decided to crack it open after work last night;

The great thing about Airfix kits and hot weather is that all the progress on the Etendard, from opening the box to the picture you see, was about two hours, including paint and glue drying. I've got the day off Thursday, so it may well be finished before the weekend 8)

Thanks Wojtek :D The line between colours on the Sea Fury is a little ragged, but I've literally spent hours messing, making it better, then worse, then better again, so I'm just going to tidy up the wing roots and get on with it. I'm trying to clear the stash down because I'm expecting a Spitfire XVI and F-16 with the paints from Hannants, I've got a half-built Fulmar and Gannet lying around, and the Do217 I was going to build for the DoTR GB is being stripped, repainted and finally finished in the near future...

Oh yes... I've just started stripping the paint off the Dornier, and it turns out I'm going to need a slightly more potent abrasive, and more of it. That's a trip to the DIY store in the morning then. I am slightly concerned about removing detail, but I'm going for an all-black scheme so I have a little leeway as long as I don't go crazy. 15 mins scrubbing has barely cleared one side of the cockpit though, and I have a full fuselage and wings to get through. I'm going to get the worst of it off then let my cheap car primer do its magic...:lol:

I've applied primer to the B314. unfortunately, a blade on one of the props broke off and I can't find it. so I broke off the rest of the blades on the prop and placed an order to minicraft for a replacement prop. but they want me to send them $4.00 which I'm NOT going to do. so I'm going to have my local hobbyshop get one for me.

that could be a good idea. I mean the B314s were never built with landing gear, and it comes with its own stand. great idea, Terry! that seriously never crossed my mind o_O

actually, Terry. I've seen some models that have these almost transparent discs on the prop hubs to make it look like they're spinning. what's the name of that material?
