I like to build 15 to 17 kits in 1/72 scale each summer. The last school year was extremely stressful, so I didn't touch any thing I had planned on doing. This year, late course work delayed me until July. I have 16 on the schedule for this time period. I always paint and assemble the interior first. I started on what I assumed what would be difficult first. The Lagg-3 from Roden (A Toko mold), Hurricanes from Revell and Hobbyboss. A P-40 from Airfix, A Kyushu K11W from Pavla, a Hasegawa Kawasaki N1K1 Kyofu, and a Mitsubishi Ki-30 from AZ Model. The Lagg, Kyushu and Ki-30 had non rotating propellers, so I had to drill holes in each motor/propeller so they would spin. The Lagg was a horrible build. That had a stationary propeller, but made it a spinning one because I just had to. The Hobbyboss was a hassle too. The Revell kit was way better. The Hurricanes, P-40 and Lagg are all going to be Japanese service aircraft. The rest straight forward IJAAF and IJAAF aircraft. The boxes are what I have left to build. Then the fun starts, the painting and the markings which I decided on last year. Sorry for poor camera. Having four kiddos gives me limited building areas.

I build like three a day. I have three to go from the boxes I posted on Tuesday. The D3A1 model 22, the A6M5c and the D4Y2. From the ones built since Tuesday, the B6N2 was the most troublesome. The F1M2 required an engine modification because the front mount was for an earlier mold. I build them now because during the school year it's too busy schedule wise. I should be starting painting Saturday, always the funniest part.
