Thanks for the replys guys! Next up is a Cessna 180. The RAAF and Army operated 19 of these from 1959-74 with some serving in Vietnam with 161 (Indep) reconnaissance Flight.

Another type to see service in Vietnam was the Bell 47, in all the RAAF and Army operated 65 of the type with the last ones being retired in 1977.

Here's one of the most unusual aircraft to serve with the Army. This Cessna Bird dog was found on a scrap heap in Vietnam before being rebuilt and flown by 161 recce flt. It eventually found its way back to Australia and preservation at the museum.

Everyone knows what this thing is.. This particular aircraft has quite a history, serving in Vietnam, with the UN is Ismalia, Sinai and finally serveral deployments to Bougainville.

Thanks for the kind words guys! Up next is the butt ugly Pilatus Turbo Porter. The Army only operated 19 of these with some seeing action in Vietnam. This particular aircraft was one of the first four flown to Australia from Switzerland in 1968, finally retiring in 1992.

Up next is a CAC Winjeel, which was the RAAF's replacement for the Wirraway. The helicopter is a Bell Kiowa, the majority of these being built in Australia by CAC.
