A few miles away is the oldest log cabin in the USA. My co-worker's father owns it and keeps up maintaining it. People were small back then! The one pic is my buddies dad.

The Nikka Yuko Japanese Gardens. Canada also treated our Japanese citizens in the same manner as the US did during WWII. The result is a local Japanese Canadian population who are from the relocated West Coast peoples and their families. The gardens are our link with Japan and its culture.

Here in Western Canada we have gained culturally from the influx of many Asian peoples. Cantonese speaking Chinese have been here for over 100 years. After the Korean War we gained Koreans, and Vietnamese after that war. Many people from the Philippines live here as well as Mandarin speaking mainland Chinese. We get to eat the foods from all of them. Lucky us.
