Found this little fella outside last night at 11pm after our dog was going crazy.

Sure you can!

You never know when an opportunity will present itself! (and hopefully a camera is nearby!)

The other day, a Red Tail Hawk was in the neighborhood and came to rest in an old Douglas Fir near my porch. He was giving several Blue Jays the hard eyeball. The Blue Jays weren't liking it a bit!

Nice picture but I think you will find that the hawk in the photo is either a Cooper's Hawk or a Sharp Shinned Hawk. The two are very similar and hard to say based on just this one photo.

Cheers,

Jeff

Yeah, it's probably a Cooper's.

Pretty good sized, about a foot and a half tall...the most common Hawk in this area is a Redtailed, so I figured it was a young one.

Being here in the middle of town, you don't see Hawks of anykind that often.

Chamber's Creek separates Lakewood from University Place. You seldom see a big buck like this from the 200-acre Chamber's Creek Wilderness behind my home, Tacoma area. The rest of the area for miles around is built-up. Last year a big buck graced my front yard with two does.

He sauntered over to the next yard.

One of the does stayed behind. Here is the buck looking at her and looking at me

Deer, like Elk and Moose, are cud chewers like cows and are prone to fart like them as well.
More methane for the climate changers to worry about. ;)

Went to the Toronto airport today and caught mama coyote out for a stroll. Looks like she has some little ones somewhere.

Cheers,

Jeff

I was out flying last weekend and had one run out in front of me as I landed. Right as I touched down.
