On my Mustang (and the ailerons of the Spit) I just didn't bother with those things, as I've had nothing but bad experiences with the Trumpeter ones. That said, this is Tamiya!

Sure is Bruce, but once I get things in place I may just glue them anyway....will depend on how they sit and just how moveable they really are?

Anyway more simple stuff....horizontal stabilizers together and a short section removed from the tips as shown by the Red lines in the second image.
Next the upper panels in the wings prepped and fitted.

Certainly looks like a dream of a kit to build.
Now pay attention a certain manufacturer, this is how mould tools should be made, not as per certain Buccaneer and Tornado kits !
