Yep you're all right on this one. Uphill about 5 degrees I recon. Thinking someone forgot to put a note on the instructions to remove the pins.

But alas, I will have to put this one away till I get the pictures from Jim in July.

I have to get some airbrush cleaner for my Alclad silver so I can experiment with it. I'll paint the 48th scale plane first with it, then this one when I get to that stage.

On to my HH-60H for GB#14!

Well now, the trauma of GB#44 is over and I'm going back to a leisurely pace.
Back on to Merlin's Magic again.
Had fits with hole drilling on the distributer cap.
Had a rethink and used a rivet template, poked some holes with a pin and used them to space the wire holes.
Worked a treat......
Then I got the Dremel out and hogged out the belly of the engine!!!!!!! Arrrrr....
Next trick was making the plug end of the leads?
So drilled a shallow hole in the end of .83mm styrene rod.
Cut that to 1/4". Used needle file to scallop the end of 1.15mm rod, a touch of thin cement.
When set cut the 1.15 rod to 3/16" long and done.
A bubble of thick CA in the hole, stuck in the red .38mm wire and Bob's yer uncle.
Easy peasy

So back to M.M.
Wiring;
To further what I've shown above, those are the Outboard plug ends.
I discovered I had to make Straight plug caps for the Inboard plugs.
Discovered is the magic word.
The wire I used is exorbitant in price, didn't realize I had paid so much!!!!!!
So I asked the IPMS members, the car guys, and this is what one suggested.
This roll, same price as 1 bloody meter of Branded!!!!!!
I show the roll with the first batch of Outboard plug wire caps.

These are the INboard ends caps.
I will suggest, if one wants to try all this I would drill the holes for the little tips (plugs)
Before attaching the valve cover And the intake manifold. So much easier, I have found.

Spaghetti............

It ain't easy.
Lesson learned!!!!!!!
Attach the wire in the Mag......... BEFORE attaching plug ends.
Attach plug ends oriented as desired Then trim length and insert into plug end piece.
It's called experience. Defined as having screwed up more than anyone else!!!!
On I go!
The wire is attached to the plug ends and Mag by a dot of "THICK" CA super glue.

Thanks guys.
This one is another special one,

Some progress on black replacement engine,
wiring underway on red!
A bit of a mockup.

All kinds of things need doing.
Gun locations have been sheeted over, ammo comp as well.
Wing tip fences need to be fabbed.
More piping at engine, cooling etc.
