Thanks for the comments guys. I finally had a chance to get some paint and weathering on the cockpit.

The left side of the pit. I still need to add some linkages to the throttle controls.

The right side.

I added the diagonal cross braces to the seat frame and bent the top to match the real thing.

The quickboost engine. I sprayed the fins aluminum first then added an oil wash. Still have to add the push rods and wiring.

Thanks for looking. I hope to get the fuselage halves glued up soon.

Thanks guys. As far as the washes go, on the engine I used AK interactive's Engine Grime. It is a pre-thinned enamel that you can use right out of the bottle. This was the first time using it and I am really happy with the way it performed. For the cockpit I used Windsor Newton oils heavily thinned with turpenoid, an odorless turpentine substitute.

Thanks, Chris. Good to know. Are your base colors enamels or acrylics

I got a little more work done this weekend.

The instrument panel mounts to this piece. I guess its suppose to represent the aft end of the cowl guns. There is a couple of problems here. Besides the lack of detail and shape of the guns, it also pushes the IP to far back into the pit. The plastic needs to be cut back to the end of the guns and the guns need to be larger and charging handles added.

The Eduard instructions show the proper location of where the IP should go.

I used some plastic sheet and rods to help detail the guns a little better. A test fit also revealed that the bottom frame of the IP was going to have to be shaved down and the smaller PE details below the IP slid over slightly.

The kit has the landing light on the underside of the wing represented by a simple circle engraved in the wing so I drilled it out and put some plastic backing behind it. I was able to punch out a lens from some clear packing material and will add it after painting.

The horizontal stabilizers don't have any panel lines on them so using some drawings I found on line I added them in. While I was at it, I also added access panels for the wing guns.

The last thing I did was to glue the wing halves together and add PE to the wheel wells and painted them. The main part of the well has a canvas cover molded on that I will paint later.

As always, thanks for looking in.
