Thanks everyone. Hope to show more over the weekend. Targeting to get the landing gear glued in (with the extensions, I'm going to need to adjust the angle of the diagonal struts somehow), the outer halves of the nacelles glued on, and then the wings set. So hopefully we should see a fully assembled Mossie by Sunday night.

Final work before closing in the nacelles. This involved gluing the landing gear into place and adding the hydraulic actuators.
The first step was to install a scratch-built mounting bar for the hydraulic jack. The rod's been painted already and I added the flanges for the jack.
The jack won't work without hydraulics lines!
Before gluing in the landing gear assembly, I felt that I needed to find a way to make the installation stronger since I added the extensions. To accomplish this, I drilled a hole in the firewall and inserted a piece of plastic tube. This will be invisible behind the oil tank and in fact will be glued to the tank and the firewall, thereby providing some added support and rigidity to the landing gear.
The kit jacks turned out to be the right length. All I needed to do was add the two couplings and the hydraulic line.
After gluing in the landing gear, I installed the jacks.
And to top it off, the jacks had their respective flexible hydraulic hoses added.
As we speak, the nacelles are now closed in and clamped as the glue sets. Things are on track to get the wings on tomorrow. Thanks for your continued interest guys.

As stated, the wings are now on so here are a few pics of where we stand.
Tamiya paint bottles proved to be the perfect height to get the correct level for the wings as they set.
Unbeknownst to me at the time, the starboard wing had been glued in place with a twist. The trailing edge turned out to be too far down on the fuselage and this is something I didn't even think to check in that the kit provided spars from the fuselage to locate the wings and aid in stiffening the joint. It seems there was too much slack in the joint and this allowed for the incorrect placement. As this was too obvious for me to leave alone, I ended up cutting the wing free again with the PE saws and resetting it in the correct position. Fortunately this operation proved to be less difficult than I anticipated and the fix was a success.
One other area that needed attention was the seam on top of the nacelle which I found difficult to close fully. I therefore inserted some plastic card into the gaps.
Overall, the wings fit reasonably well, but I did end up squeezing a bit of stretched sprue into some very narrow gaps. The below pic shows both wings, the starboard one having been fixed at this stage, as they now stand with filling complete and some minimal sanding yet to be done.
I screwed up the elevators. At first, I had thought that Revell messed up on the elevators as scale drawings featured at the back of the SAM publication showed the trim tab actuators on the opposite horizontal stabilizers than the kit provided. So I proceed to cut them off and glued them on the other side as shown below.
Having now looked closer a numerous pictures, I discovered that the SAM drawings were wrong and the kit parts were right in the first place! So now I'm going to have to put these back where they were. DAMN! That's tomorrow's project.
