Thanks for your continued interest guys. I'm struggling to find the time (and some motivation) to keep at this project for the moment as I have several other time-critical projects on the go. This weekend we are preparing a display for our Mossie RS700 for a small local airshow. I need to build a holder for the emergency hatch, which is currently sitting in my garage, and then a lifting frame for the canopy so that we can take it off the fuselage and set it aside. In addition, there are some repairs I need to do around the house and we're already half way through our too short summer.

The good news, no GREAT news, is that, after a year of planning and organizing my work life, I've succeeded in bringing my replacement on board so that I can reduce my working hours to 3 days a week starting next week and thereby easing into retirement over the next several years. This will give me some 4 day weekends from now on, though I expect that, with the volatile nature of my work in managing project teams, there will be times when the 3 day a week thing may not happen.

I'm sure that I will squeeze in a few hours per week of modeling time and will continue to post progress here. I'm hoping to complete this Mosquito for the Alberta Military Model Show in September so will need steady progress on it to achieve that goal. Thanks again for your interest and patience.

Don't kid yourself Andy, even though you may have reduced your work load and may be lucky in having some nice long weekends, that time will be so occupied you'll wonder how you ever manage before. Congrats on the achievement though and enjoy.

Me too Wayne, thanks.

Cory, it would be great to see you down here in September. The AMMS is a nice show and is held in a great setting.

The Military Museum was expanded from the old Museum of the Regiments a few years back and incorporated all of the exhibits from the old naval museum. There's now a large hall (in which the model show takes place) housing numerous naval guns, several aircraft, and lots of ship models which can keep your interest through the quieter moments in the model show.

Hoping next year I can get my act together and head over there to Eastern Canada to a show. Just found out the company is thinking about going to a 2 week on, 2 week off shift so there will be ample travel time.

I've been making some slow headway on my Mossie and am reasonably satisfied that enough has been added to the cockpit area to enable me to set it into one of the fuselage sides. The instrument panel has the instruments from the kit decal sheet added at the front and a mess of wires at the back (these will be seen through the perspex nose). The rudder pedals have been substantially thinned and are still too thick, however they won't be easily seen. More wiring has been added around the radio and the first aid kit was fabricated from a sprue tab and painted.

The next area of work will be the bomb bay sidewalls and bulkheads where there are plenty of hydraulic tubes and hoses to be added.

Pure magic Andy. Always like what you do with the cockpits. I've posted a new link to the Spitfire Serial Numbers in the Aviation Section/World War2 Aviation Links if your interested. It replaces the old one.
