1:48 P-51D by Tamiya 44-13410 LOU IV

Build of a Tamiya P-51D in 1:48th Scale.

I am building this while I am waiting for replacement PE set for my SBD-3 for the current group build. The particular aircraft I am building is LOUIV flown by T.J. Christian of the 375th Fighter Squadron. Aircraft number 44-13410.

I washed all of the sprues and then primed several of them. This I normally do not do until assembly but I was anxious to try out a new primer!

Off to a blazing start. Which primer Robert? If you want to get fancy, the seat had small braces...

I keep forgetting the paint sequence but someone smart will set you up on the wheel well colors.

Great info! Still painting the cockpit as you can see. Its actually easier for me this way since I can see what can be seen if that makes sense. Also going to dry brush and do a little pencil chipping and wear patterns on the seats. I happen to have ordered some various sizes and shapes from Evergreen so will have a go at the braces!

Thanks guys! The primer is from Badger and is called the unfortunate name of Stynylrez and is excellent! It is self leveling and does a great job of filling micro scratches and other imperfections. Comes in a variety of colors as well!

If you're interested Andy, so far I've found this dealer in Edmonton...Maple Airbrush Supplies Inc. and so far the cheapest for me, just under 20$CAN including shipping for a 60ml bottle
