Hello,

I am going to be building a Series 1 Airfix Scottish Aviation Bulldog RAF trainer.

Just picked this kit up off the famous auction site -

The particular Bulldog that I will be modelling is the Bulldog which I undertook my one and only flight at the controls in. This was during my time in the Air Training Corpa many years ago.

My flight log with the Bulldog series number -

The actual aircraft I flew - XX670 C -

Hoping to get started by the end of the week.

Cheers Chris

Nice one Chris. I could have bought a surplus Bulldog about 11 years ago, airworthy and with plenty of hours left on the engine and prop, for under £3,000, via a contact who had the correct MoD trading licences.

Thanks Guy's.
I was amazed I could even find a photo of it to start with.
As soon as I did it just screamed build a model.

Terry, what an offer. Not exactly thrilling in terms of speed but was a nice little plane to fly.
At the time I hadn't even been on a commercial flight and this truly was my first time in the air.
I remember the Navy Pilot who took me up (Philip Scott) telling me that he flew Harriers.

That's cool ! I loved the Airfix bubble box kits. Firts one I ever bought was a Boulton Paul Defiant at a toy store in Brussels in the early 70s. Still have it. Kind of cool to see what you were shelling out your hard earned allowance for !

Thanks all. Not started yet as I'm out in Italy at the minute with work so when I get back hopefully the kit will have arrived and I can crack on.

Terry, no thankfully we stick to nice straight level flight and flew from Cosford to Iron Bridge and back.

Jan, you should work for the Swedish tourist board. If only they knew how active you are at promoting Sweden lol.

Makes we want to get a real one, and paint it in that scheme! I wonder what a Chipmunk would look like in those colours ............... or a Tucano?!!

One does try! See if it's possible to work in the Swedish Bikini Team into this forum...

Jan that camo is the bomb!

Have a E/E Lightning F6, a TSR.2 and a Buccaneer, that, at some point, will wear this splinter camouflage....possibly the B-57 Canberra that I've got sitting as well...

Something for your 'what ifs' old boy....
