Great going Matt, or I should say, Aaron! Just enlarged the first shot, to look at the canopy. The paintwork on the framing is excellent!
Looking forward to the next shots.
Terry.

He's pretty proud. Thanks guys. Here is the decal application sequence...

Some of the closeups have the spinner a bit too orange. That is an artifact of the lighting.

Wow! That is fantastic! I've just been looking at some models on another web-site, where the modeller was 'instructing' on building a blast pen. His blast pen was O.K., but his 1/72nd scale models would have to go a long way to even equal Aaron's P40, and that's a fact!
Tell him great stuff from me!

I am jealous, heh he did a better job on the camo than i did on my P-40.

and using a pencil for panel lines?? damn, I never thought of that, heh

great job, little man!

Aaron says to thankyou all for your nice comments.

He did run into a bear of an issue with the Academy decals. The first roundel had to soak for over 5 minutes before it would release from the backing. And when it did, it fell into about 8 pieces. Those are some of the thinnest decals I've seen. This happened on another roundel and and one side of the sharks teeth. So to avoid a meltdown, he asked me to fix them for him. Other than that, I did not help him in anyway other than to answer his questions.

He's really proud of it. He asked me if he can not hang it up for a while, as he wants to play with it for a week or so first.

 I wanna play with it too.

Academy decals are SOBs. The checkerboard for the cowl to go with 'Eileen' for the Acad 72nd scale Jug had to be Futured into position. Helped along by much swearing.

Congrats to your young one. Very nice work, better than I've seen some adults do.

Strangely gratifying to see something built strictly OOB, too.
