An accident during air show in Poland.

There was an accident yesterday, during the flying picnic in Płock. A great pilot, Marek Szufa, crashed to Vistula River during the show. He was twenty minutes under the water but was taken to the hospital alive.

I think we said that about last year and the year before as well. Accidents happen, not a thing we can do about it.

They are talking about black smoke, but to me it looks like the normal smoke generator stuff. Seeing the video it looks to me like the pilot took too much risk, performing his stalls too low. In an earlier point in the video he skims awfully low over the waves, coming out of the dive and later becomes just too low, stalling his wings and plunges in.

Terrible news. On the video, it did look like the smoke darkened (slightly) to me...but that could just have been the lighting. The resolution was fairly low.
