If I'm not mistaken, it is one of nine that were lost and Glacier Girl is also one of these nine. So there are seven left of this goup to discover.

When the glacier "squadron" became a possible source of "new" warbirds, all kinds of Restorers came outta the weeds. I was at the Champlin Fighter Museum here in AZ when a crew with lots more ambition than competence stopped in to compare notes. One of the "mechanics" asked what kind of metric tools they should take, because...

If I remember right, there were a couple found (and the B-17, I think) but had suffered beyond salvation. Glacier Girl herself, was on the verge of not being salvagable.

Over the decades, they had become buried, drifted in different directions and the verying levels of ice and snow crushed them all to a certain extent, depending one their locations.
