Bf-109 E-4 Eduard 1/48

Hi,
I'm new to this forum, and this is my first build log. I'm from Hungary, and I just turned 20, so I still have a lot to learn about modeling, that's why I started this thread.
I always wanted to build a 109, but I prefer the later variants. However, since I built an Fw190 from Eduard, I don't even want to look at other company's models They have amazing details and fitting,
not to mention the PE parts and masks, and the relatively cheap price. Unfortunately, they only have the Emils, so I bought the E-4 with Master Model gun barrels.


I will build the following version:

I'm starting the thread a little late, since I'm already at the stage, where it's masked and ready for painting, but I have a few shots of the build

Looking good. But why is the cockpit interior so dirty? Oh.. I know , you want to show the kite in the stage we can see in the picture below right?

Actually I don't Ok, I may have overdone it, happens to me all the time. I just wanted to add a little dust to the pedal area and a few scratches, but it can be corrected easily. Today, I have primed the aircraft, I will post pictures later.

So I primed the aircraft yesterday, and started pre-shading the yellow areas. I've only used black for this method before, I'm looking forward to it.

Not much is visible from the red, even though I used really thin mixture. Anyway, here are some pics.

The gears will get a flat coat of course.

Good stuff so far. One point about the yellow I.D. paint - it was a 'washable', temporary distemper-like paint and, at that particular period, was only a few days old.
Consequently, there would be little sign of weathering, but there might be evidence of 'thin' application in some areas, due to the nature of the coating, although this is not immediately evident in period photos.

Looking good I have used in the past paint the color,shade and hit with a thin mist to your liking and that mist all depends on how dark the color shading that is selected for underneath. I use alot of RLM66(dark greys) for my preshade on Luft A/C by the way.
