Chino Airshow 2014

Only got about 25 minutes to run around and take pics before we had to handle the crowds. Here are a few static shots. I'll start with a head-on shot of a private A-4 Skyhawk that flew in. A VERY clean and well-done aircraft.

Here's a front quarter view.

We had a bubble canopy Spitfire XIV attend and here's a shot.

Six or seven years ago we had a disassembled Pilatus P-2 that somehow disappeared. Ed Maloney always SAID it was being rebuilt, but we never saw it again until this airshow. Some old Bf 109 parts were used. They used the instrument panel and the main landing gear legs configured in a different manner. It doubled for a German aircraft in one of the Indiana Jones movies. Here is a shot.

Here's three B-25s and a B-17 (Fuddy Duddy).

Here's a beautiful F7F that has been around lately. Steve Hinton flew it from California to Sun and Fun and back, and we washed off the dust and bugs and it flew again in this airshow. What a great sound from two R-2800s plus the superchargers!

Here's a shot of three C-47's together. Two flew in the show.

Here's General Lyons' B-17 "Fuddy Duddy" that flew in from John Wayne airport.

And here's the CAF Arizona Wing's B-17 "Sentimental Journey"

We had a couple of F-22 Raptors perform. Here's one of them.

We also had the Horsemen perform in three P-51s as wella s three F-86s. Here is the Planes of Fame F-86 that flies with the group.

Rudy Frasca's Fw 190F (Fleugwerk replica) is displayed at the Planes of Fame and here it is in the airshow. Later, it flew around and harassed the B-17s, much to the annoyance of the escorts who chased him off at least three times.

Here's two of the five P-47s that flew with a third peeking out from the cowling on the right.

Nice thread, Greg.

There was a Japanese photographer who visited Chino Airshow every year about ten years ago in our local forum.
I don't know his true name but his nickname Zero-sen Mania.
If you should happen to know who he is, I would greatly appreciate if you should tell him to join this forum.
He was a great collector of the Zero equipments as well as a brilliant photographer.
He knows me as Shinpachi too.
