Great news! Love the FW-190!

Would like to see it eventually look like the one I've got hanging over my fireplace.

While in Arizona, we were going to go up and look at the just-restored FW-190 that FLEW Dec 1st. We found out it had already left the airport there and when we got to Chino I caught some pics. Just painted apparently.
Here's a link to the first flight announcement:

The aircraft referred to in the link (original Fw 190A-5/U3) is not the same as the one shown on the pictures above. I think these pictures actually show Flug Werk replica Fw 190A-8/N.

The pics were taken at Planes of Fame in Chino, CA by me 1-14-11. I assumed (I know) Steve Hinton flew it home to be painted.

Sorry folks, as stated by Imalko the pics above are the replica. Found this:

Agreed, detracts from the overall look doesn't it?

Yeah, I hate that. These ones at least are somewhat tastefully done, and won't really be seen in flight. The Lanc in Hamilton has Shell logos on the tail, though they're small, and there is (or at least used to be) an F4U with a giant Red Bull logo on the nose that looked awful. I guess if it keeps them flying?

That's what happens what you ask companies to help pay the cost of the restoration.
They want their logo on it..... If you look at a lot of the flying warbirds, you will find a
company logo somewhere. Most times it's very tasteful.

I didn't think that "White 14" was the same aircraft.... Don't think they've had time to
paint it yet.

The one at Planes of Fame is a Flugwerks "new build." They get cranky if you call it a replica. I've seen it a few times already and they flew it on the 8th of December. It's had cooling problems since they built it and there was no exception to that on the 8th. They did one flyover of the field and landed due to cooling problems. It was supposed to go and do flyovers at the Cable airshow but they couldn't because of that problem.

Welcome to Cable Air Show 2011

I was chuffed to learn about the restored Fw190A-5, and really hope it can make it to Duxford one day.
