Thanks for posting Harrison, these are great. I'll be at the NASM in about two weeks and can't wait to view these great planes. I did also want to see the Enola Gay at the Udvar-Hazy Centre - did you get there also?

Cheers

Peter

Went there once with the Boy Scouts, back in '88 I think it was...was mostly interested in patch-trading at the time, so didn't spend much time actually looking at the exhibits. I kick myself now...although I do that a lot, thinking back to all the time I've wasted as a kid. Heh. One of these days, I'm gonna get myself back to Washington DC!

One thing you might consider, Harrison, is taking a tripod or monopod along with you. You don't have to open the tripod legs out all the way, so you can have the small footprint that a monopod offers, but with three points of contact for the better stability that the tripod offers. This way you can leave the shutter open for longer periods of time, giving yourself more light and sharper images. Trying to hand-hold a zoom lens indoors is difficult, at best. Great pics overall, though!

Great shots Harrison! That's is a great museum! I've been there 3 times now and see something new each time. Too bad you didn't have time to go to the one at Dulles, Its even better. Less of the cabinet displays and more airplanes. I was at both museums a year ago and took something like 500 photos. I'll have to post some of them sometime if I get the time to go through them and resize them.

Great pics. I see that taking pics in there is still the same - I have some from 1994 that you could place next to H's and not tell the difference. :)

Just noticed that the JG 7 badge on that 262 is wrong. The leaping hound should be on a black stripe across the field of blue. hhmmmmmmm
