First attempt. I was planning on the prop only version first but I got involved with an Early Jets Group build and this fit better. I still hope to build the earlier v1 at some point
According to Me 262 Volume One by Smith and Creek, when it first flew it was an overall natural metal finish with black green (70) spinner and propeller. A few more pics are attached from the book.
I know its been a while since I updated this thread but life and lack of MOJO has gotten in the way of all my modeling lately. Here is the latest progress on the 262.
Turning to the nose of our prototype we already filled in the gun ports but now its time to ready it for the 750HP Jumo 210A piston driven motor and a 2 blade wooden prop.
Using some Evergreen plastic I created a bulkhead for the prop
I also had to do a little work to the forward wing root area because the wing on this version was not that far forward.
After looking at some color palettes I have to agree with you. looks to be RLM 02 and it looks to be on both the upper and lower surfaces of the aircraft. Sure makes my life easier.
